Appeal after man hurt in road crash

Police are appealing for information after a road traffic collision left a man with serious injuries.

The incident happened in Doncaster town centre on Friday, June 14, at about 2pm when a man was knocked over by a car.

A spokeswoman for South Yorkshire Police said: “A black Toyota Landcruiser driven by a 62-year-old man from Mexborough was travelling along Market Road, Doncaster in the direction of Doncaster town centre.

“It is believed that a 20-year-old man has emerged on foot in between two stationary queuing vehicles and collided with the Toyota Landcruiser.

“The local man received serious injuries and was taken to Doncaster Royal Infirmary.”

Anyone who witnessed the collision or may have information that will help officers are urged to contact police on 101 quoting incident number 625 of 14 June 2013.
