Craft lovers enjoy racecourse showcase - picture gallery

CREATIVE Doncaster folk took up the chance to get crafty with a major show at the town’s racecourse.

Thousands of visitors attended Summer Crafting 2012, where they had a chance to learn, watch and buy all manner of specialist crafting goodies.

More than 80 exhibitors were able to offer up a chance to show visitors how its done - with demos of card making, cake decorating and jewellery making.

Sponsor QVC was jonined by well-known craft personality Stephanie Weightman, who was on hand all weekend for a gossip and crafty chat.

Event organiser Zoe Anslow, of Art and Crafts Direct, said: “Crafts of any kind are becoming increasingly popular and more and more people are spending their spare time getting creative and crafting their own unique pieces.”

A day of specialist craft workshops was also held the day before the main event opened to the public.
