VOLUNTEERS came together to make sure a community clean-up was far from rubbish.
The village of Woodlands was litter-picked and tidied up as part of a programme of clean-up missions held by community group Woodlands Speaks.
Residents joined people from Doncaster Council, the police, St Leger Homes and the fire service to tidy areas including around Woodlands Library in Windmill Balk Lane.
Children from the St Joseph and St Teresa’s School also joined the team effort and filled 20 bags of rubbish picked from the streets.
They also raised a number of important concerns that are being acted on by the council and St Leger Homes, a spokesman for Woodlands Speaks said.
