DEARNE residents are encouraged to attend a free safety event in Rotherham to raise awareness of bogus callers.
The event will be held at the Lifewise Centre on Thursday, April 3, and has been organised in conjunction with South Yorkshire Police and Yorkshire Water.
Those attending will be able to pick up crime prevention advice.
Rotherham Police project officer, Andy Foster, said: “The aim of the day is not to frighten people but to make people living in Rotherham, particularly the elderly and vulnerable, feel safer, raise their awareness of these incidents and give them some useful prevention advice.”
Anyone interested in attending is asked to contact the Lifewise Centre on 01709 832455.
