A VINTAGE French van gave an authentic flavour to rehearsals for the farce ’Allo, ’Allo by Bawtry Amateur Dramatic Society.

The Citroen H van is in the livery of the society’s new sponsor, Bliss Food Restaurant, in Swan Street.

The society players are busy rehearsing for their first production of the new season at the Phoenix Theatre, which will be the French farce based on the popular BBC series.

It will run at the Station Road venue from November 10 to 19. BADS stalwart Bob Geeson will take the lead role of café owner Rene in the play directed by Sue Stephenson.

The play will be the first production to be staged at the theatre since major refurbishment work was completed.

Cast members took time out from learning their lines to get into costume and say ’allo to Lee Jackson who owns the restaurant.

Bliss will be providing a French-themed pre-theatre dining option when the production takes to the stage.
