A COTTAGE owner was given the fright of his life when a car crashed into his Doncaster home in the early hours of the morning.

The overturned Range Rover ended up resting against the property after the driver, a man aged in his 30s, lost control on the A635 Doncaster Road in Hickleton.

Firefighters said the vehicle ploughed through a wall but did not cause any damage to the cottage.

Paramedic checked out the driver and he was not taken to hospital.

The man inside the cottage, thought to be aged in his 50s, was woken by the crash around 4.20am on Tuesday.

Crews from Adwick and Dearne stations made sure the area was safe before leaving around an hour later.
