A GLITZ and Glamour Ball at Rossington Hall Hotel has raised over £3,200 for Cancer Research UK.
The swish event was organised by Carolyn Poole, owner of Chique Boutique at Armthorpe, in celebration of 10 years of business.
Guests at the event were welcomed by fashion consultant Tina G then treated to ‘low-key’ fashion shows to music between courses. Charity funds were boosted by an auction that included a Florida villa holiday, a golfing day and signed Leeds United football shirt.
Carolyn said: “It was the first time I had organised an event like this but I did feel it was a great success in a wonderful venue. People who were there have been ringing me incessantly to say thank you and asking if they can come again, if I stage another ball next year.”
Of her 10 years in fashion retail, Carolyn said that word of mouth and the social media have combined to help her win a wide range of customers. She casts her net wide to find fashion choices that are new to Doncaster and claims to love the challenge of pleasing her customers.
She praised her “fantastic” staff, along with daughters Emma, who has joined the business, and Olivia who also helps.
