A WATH Tae Kwondo Club is kicking off a campaign to raise £3,000 for electronic body armour.

Young members of The SWAT Tae Kwondo club are setting their sights on the state of the art equipment which records scores and will give them experience of the top level of the sport.

Instructor Mark Eager said: “We have some realy talented kids who want to progress in the sport and this will help them reach the highest standards”. SWAT are based at Montgomery Hall and practice seven days a week, with members aged from 3-53. The club recently competed in the national championships. Lauren Guest, 13 won silver and Kai Law, 10 and Finlay Summers, 9 clinched bronze. The club has already raised £1,000, from bag packing at Wilkinsons in Barnsley and cash for clothes.
