Campaigners objecting to a solar farm in Belton have stepped up their fight to stop the scheme in its tracks.
An application to install a 2.04MW ground mounted solar system on land north of Green Lane, Westgate, from Mr T Bletcher has received a flood of objections.
Robin Hood Airport has tabled a raft of concerns with North Lincolnshire Council planners saying the scheme could cause distraction to pilots including eye damaging glare.
They have asked for a safety case and risk assessment survey and for glare to be kept at safe levels.
In addition they have asked that panels will not endanger aircraft safety and will not cause dazzle or distraction. Airport managing director, Steve Gill, said: “We can confirm that the airport has raised concerns about the potential scheme to install solar panels in Belton. The safety of our passengers is our number one priority.”
