NKJoshi Properties has purchased a portfolio of 10 empty houses to create more housing for the private rental sector in Doncaster.

The company agreed the takeover of the properties in Town Moor Avenue, Apley Road, Elmfield Road and Chequer Road, which had been empty for a number of years, from an existing landlord.

A spokesman for NKJoshi Properties said: “We always aim to create opportunities for the private rental sector in Doncaster, giving them good choice and value for money.

“As we own and mange all of our properties we constantly aim to delivery high service, and work together with local businesses.

“Rather than theses houses stay empty, lets give the opportunity for them to be lived in again.

“I’m positive that this will kick-start and create confidences for many home owners to place their property for sale, and giving them freedom to move about.

“We’ve noticed after we have agreed sales on some properties in Doncaster, that on the same street other local residents have also placed their property on the market.”

He added some of properties are boarded up and a programme of refurbishment will commence.

Project leaders hope the homes will be ready to move into before Christmas.

NKJoshi Properties started doing business in Doncaster in 1975, buying primarily residential and commercial properties.
