Doncaster Council’s new Civic Office is officially open for business.

Mayor Peter Davies opened the new building that features a one-stop-shop, where residents can complete all of their council business in one location, as well as an impressive new council chamber.

The new Civic Office is also home to about 1,600 council staff and forms a key part of the regeneration of Waterdale.

The official opening marked the completion of the first new building in the town’s new £300million Civic and Cultural Quarter (CCQ).

Peter Davies, Mayor of Doncaster, said: “The new civic offices consolidate numerous council buildings into one modern, low energy building and will save the authority £650,000 a year in running costs.”

Hill Top Primary School choir from Edlington entertined the audience at the event.
