A major construction firm is upgrading its Doncaster base with a number of environmentally-friendly features to reduce its carbon footprint.
Skanska UK is introducing a number of green initiatives during the revamp at its Bentley Works site in Pipering Lane, Bentley.
This includes systems to harvest rainwater for use in the building, a biomass boiler and solar power. The work space and workshops will also be modernised and are due for completion in May.
The company has helped to fund the scheme through divesting the site to the company’s UK pension scheme, at a value of £16.5 million.
