The company which manages council homes in Thurnscoe, Goldthorpe and Bolton-upon-Dearne has been named as one of the top three in the country.
Berneslai Homes was rated as third best arms length management organisation in the country by a national poll conducted by the magazine for housing professionals 24housing.
Chief executive Helen Jaggar said: “It has been a challenging year with continued economic austerity but we are pleased to have been able to deliver the core landlord services, as well as the added value work which has helped us achieve this recognition. We thrive on delivering a tenant focused service and will continue to strive to create a better future for our communities.”
The firm, which manages nearly 19,000 properties for Barnsley Council, won plaudits from the judges for being a strong performer for delivering its core housing service, as well as a number of successful community projects.
These included digital inclusion work helping tenants to get online and the family intervention team for their work with troubled families.
