A BARMAN scooped a record-breaking £807,313.43 on an online casino slot game - but carried on working for two weeks because he did not know he had won.
Lien Bailey, 23, scooped the largest prize to date on the William Hill Millionaires Club game, but lost his internet connection so did not realise all the reels had fallen into line.
And he did not know his £4.50 punt had paid off until a fortnight later when he logged onto his account and saw his balance was more than £800,000 better off.
Lien, who earns £174 a week in his job at Urban Bar and Lounge in Cleveland Street, Doncaster, won 89-years worth of wages from his online punt.
He said: “I didn’t believe it at first – I just thought it was a joke.
“But then I thought why would a stranger be saying this to me – it wasn’t like it was one of my mates having a laugh.
“I live with my step-dad in Doncaster and also act as a carer for my dad Neil, 44, who has muscular dystrophy.”
Lien has now vowed to continue working despite the life changing windfall, but he is yet to decide whether he will stay pulling pints at Urban Bar.
Girlfriend Katie Brandon, 26, a manager at Claire’s Accessories, said: “He came into the shop and told me and I really thought he was joking. He left after telling me and went back to work and I really did still think it was a hoax.
“‘I do believe it now – but I love him just the same as I did before the win. He’s always been priceless to me.”
