Air ambulance rescue

A WOMAN was taken to hospital by air ambulance, following a road collision yesterday.

The incident, that involved two cars, took place at about 11.15am on the A635 at the junction with Blacksmith’s Lane, Marr.

The 71-year-old female driver of a red Rover 45 was airlifted to hospital with two fractured hips. The driver and passenger of an orange Fiat Panda were also taken to hospital with minor injuries.

The road was closed from 11.35am from Hickleton crossroads to Church Lane in Marr, and Hangman Stone Lane from Doncaster Road, High Melton, to the A635 at Marr. They were re-opened at 1.40pm.

Fire crews from Doncaster and Edlington stations attended.
