a fundraiser staged by a young girl and her gran to help a sick tot last weekend, almost QUADRUPLED its target sum.
Songster Ebon’e Jackson, eight, of Middlecliffe linked up with gran Sue Nortcliffe, 53, and others to stage a one-night special at the Westville Club, West Melton on October 14.
The young recent winner of Barnsley’s Got Talent was joined by 15-year old Bethany Ready of Thurnscoe and Gavin Roberts of West Melton for the musical entertainment, and headshaves, comedy, raffles and an auction all added to the cash boom.
All together, almost £2000 was raised to help little three-year old Ebonie Webb of Barnsley reach the £70,000 she needs for specialist treatment in the USA for her brain tumour.
Ebonie, who has family in Goldthorpe, has had long courses of treatment including chemotherapy, but her best option remains in the States with proton therapy, and her family is keen to get her there as soon as possible.
Here, she could have radiotherapy but that would put her at high risk of brain damage, blindness and deafness.
