A STAINFORTH stunner is through to the finals of a national beauty pageant after beating off competition from thousands of other girls.
Tamsin Hobbs, 19, of Turnberry Mews Stainforth was chosen out of 7,000 girls to win a place in the quarter finals of Miss Teen Queen 2010 and went on to secure enough text votes to reach the final stages of the competition, that will be filmed for a
BBC documentary.

Tamsin, who will compete in the finals in London this summer, could represent England in a global pageant in America if she is crowned the winner.

Tamsin said: "I would like to say a massive thank you to everyone who took the time to vote.

"It means the world to me, it's absolutely amazing. I never thought I'd get this far, when I found out I couldn't sleep I was so excited.

"I don't know if I'll win but I just feel lucky to have got this far, this is my first pageant so I think I've done really well."

Hatfield Visual Arts College student Tamsin who is already signed to EKA Model and Actor Management Casting Agency is hoping the competition could put her on the modelling map.

"Modelling is something I really want to do and acting and I'm just looking forward to the whole experience of being in the final and meeting all the other girls and just feeling like a princess," said Tamsin.

The 2010 competition will be judged by celebrities and top modelling agency representatives and the winner will have the chance to represent their country in America for an international pageant.

They will also win prizes including a laptop and thousands of pounds worth of clothing.

A spokesman from Teen Queen UK said: "Teen Queen UK not only enables girls from all walks of life and backgrounds the chance to give the exciting world of modelling a go, but also gives them the opportunity to take part in a professional photo-shoot at a top London studio."
