MEMORIES are being jogged as the Gazette publishes this picture of the Pentecostal Gospel Hall Sunday School taken in 1949, in Darlington Grove, Moorends.
The church joined with Thorne Pentecostal Church in 1963 and erected a pre-fabricated building on the old Quaker church ground in 1964. It then moved to its present building at the former South Common School on Peel Castle Road, Thorne, in 2003.

Thorne Pentecostal Church would love to hear from anyone who recognises either themselves, friends or family featured in the picture.

Alternatively, contact the Gazette on the e-mail address below.

Mrs Cummins was the pastor in 1949.

Her grand-daughter, Angela Clayton, is the baby on the front row of the photo.

l Anyone who has old pictures can e-mail copies to editorial@thornetoday.co.uk for publication in the Gazette.
