11 arrested and seven charged during second day of Doncaster raids

Nine men and two women have been arrested this morning following a second day of police raids to tackle burglary and related offences in Doncaster.

Following yesterday’s dawn raids six men and one woman who were arrested during the police operation have now been charged with a variety of offences.

And today, a 36-year-old man was arrested at a property on Balby Road on suspicion of burglary and handling stolen goods.

A 32-year-old man was arrested at a property on Beaconsfield Road on suspicion of theft from motor vehicle and a 35-year-old man was arrested at a property on Westminster Crescent on suspicion of theft from motor vehicle and handling stolen goods.

Eight people were arrested on suspicion of handling stolen goods; a 32-year-old man at a property on Locking Drive, a 41-year-old man at a property on Don Street, a 29-year-old woman at a property on Childers Street and a 41-year-old man at a property on Belmont Avenue.

A 39-year-old man and a 38-year-old woman were arrested at Kingsway House, a 34-year-old man at a property on Glyn Avenue and a 33-year-old man was produced from HMP Doncaster.

DCI Craig Robinson leading the investigation, entitled Operation Deal, said: “We have made 24 arrests in just over 24 hours as part of the investigation into crimes including burglary, theft from motor vehicle and robbery.

“The message we want to send out is clear; if you are involved in any form of criminality that affects the honest and hard-working people of Doncaster, we will find you and we will bring you to justice.”
