A dream job at the award-winning Yorkshire Wildlife Park could be yours with launch of a recruitment drive for 100 vacancies.

After record visitor numbers last year, the park is looking for more than 100 staff to deliver an excellent visitor experience at the Park, which is developing new facilities this winter.

Vacancies are both full time, seasonal and part time and are across many different departments including managerial roles, animal rangers, administrative, retail and catering staff.

The recruitment drive has start dates ranging from the end of January through to July.

“We have a variety of exciting posts available here and it is great to be able to offer employment to the local community and continue to provide investment in the economy,” said HR manager, Clare Pearson, coordinator of recruitment.

“The Park has gone from strength to strength since opening seven years ago and we hope that 2016 will be another year of growth. There are many businesses within the park and while our work is all about the animals, the majority of jobs are looking after our visitors”

The park has attracted huge visitor numbers and boosted the local economy by more than £7 million thanks to its reputation as one of the most innovate wildlife parks in the country with a unique collection of rare and endangered species.

Its visitor facilities, including the Safari Shopping Village and cafes, have grown and extra staff are needed throughout the year.

The jobs on offer also include visitor service manager and assistants and an accounts assistant.

“The high calibre and dedication of our support staff, be they full-time or seasonal workers, is a feature of the visitor experience at YWP,” added Ms Pearson. “Our fantastic work in animal conservation would not be possible without them.

“A job at YWP provides a great opportunity to work at a vibrant attraction and adds a significant experience to your CV.”

The innovative park’s combination of dedicated conservation and fun for all the family has consistently drawn in the crowds making it the nation’s fastest growing wildlife attraction.

The park opened in 2009 and had 66,000 visitors in its first year. It broke through the landmark 500,000 annual visitors for the first time in 2014 and had over 678,000 visitors last year.

The park has won an international reputation by offering unrivalled access to some of the world’s most beautiful and at risk animals, including the Amur Leopards and Tigers, Lions, the country’s only three Polar Bears, Giraffes and many more. It is shortlisted this year in the England for Excellence Awards as one of the country’s leading Large Visitor Attractions of the Year.
