Work on foot and cycle ways

RSPB Old Moor Nature Reserve

RSPB Old Moor Nature Reserve

IMPROVEMENTS to walking and cycling routes in the Dearne should be completed by March next year.
The £560,000 work has been funded through the Local Sustainable Transport Fund – a £24.6m grant awarded to South Yorkshire last June.

It involves widening and resurfacing existing footpaths where possible, surfacing existing public rights of way, constructing tactile disability crossings and improving road surfaces. Routes to be upgraded are Doncaster Road to High Street, Westview Crescent to Goldthorpe Road, Carr Field Lane to Manvers, Pagnell Avenue to Nicholas Lane and Barrowfield Road to Lidget Lane.
