Family History Society of Doncaster meeting

Doncaster & District Family History Society is holding its monthly meeting at the College for the Deaf. Leger Way, Intake. DN2 6AY. On Wednesday, February 22, at 7pm for 7.30pm start. It is the AGM. Followed by a talk entitled '˜Railway Posters of the Yorkshire Coast' Given by Rachel Holland - Hargreaves. This talk will explore the way in which the railway promoted destinations on the Yorkshire coast, including Whitby, Scarborough, Bridlington & others. Examples explored will cover the late 19th century and early 1900's concentrating on the 1920's & 30's. The bold bright images which attracted day trip & holiday passengers were part of the railway's publicity image.
