The hugely successful Fame – The Musical will be stopping in Doncaster to bring some West End magic to South Yorkshire.
Now in its 25th anniversary year, the Fame theatre show will be at The Dome between September 8 and 13 to tell the story of a group of talented young performers looking for the ultimate accolade - fame.
Based on the Oscar-winning film and set in the world famous High School for Performing Arts New York, the show has been choreographed and directed by award-winning Gary Lloyd, the man responsible for the West End smash hit Thriller and whose previous credits include working with Will Young and Girls Aloud, as well as stints on The X-Factor and The Royal Variety Performance.
“Fame is a show with some very impressive credentials,” said Chris Hone, Head of Commercial Activity at Doncaster Culture and Leisure Trust, which manages The Dome.
“We are delighted to have a show of such a calibre coming to The Dome and it should be a real treat for audiences.”
Fame has been winning critics over in the West End with its dynamic dance routines and unforgettable songs since its first showing in the UK in 1995 and has received impressive industry recognition as well, being nominated for two prestigious Olivier Awards.
“This is a musical of astounding quality and to make sure audiences enjoy a night to remember we have put together some truly exceptional hospitality packages to match,” added Chris.
“For example, customers will be able to enjoy a two-course meal, ice cream and interval drink and a programme as part of the Best Seats package.”
Tickets are on sale from Thursday May 1.
