I don't like this getting older
Published Date:

I think I'm getting older,
Me eyesight's getting dim,
Me hearing's not too bad,
When I have me hearing aid in.
Some of me hair is dropping out,
Me pony's a little thin,
Sometimes I wake up in the night,
And wonder where I've bin.
I must be getting older,
For me teeth are in a pot,
While I'm getting them nice and white,
Me jaw bone starts to lock.
Me neck sometimes gets so stiff
Then it gives a crack,
I bend down to do a job,
Then I've done me back.
I don't like this getting older,
As I hold me belly in,
Then I gasp to get me breath,
Now it starts its wobbling.
I'm starting to get worried,
As me knees are getting weak,
Me ankles are swelling up,
And I can't see me feet.
Me blood pressure is not too good,
Me cholesterol's up a bit,
I think I'll have a minute,
But it hurts me bum to sit.
Me skin is getting wrinkles,
With age spots showing up,
Me nails are all breaking off,
Well I think that's just me luck.
The Doc always tells me,
I'm afraid dear it's your age,
So I'll read a book in bed at night,
And hope I'll reach that last page - Goodnight!
