BIG hearted youngsters have been helping children on the other side of the globe - by collecting toys and goodies for orphans in war-torn Afghanistan.

Youngsters at the Building Blocks Montessori and Day Nursery, Lakeside have been busy filling shoeboxes with all sorts of delights to bring a smile to children thousands of miles away.

They were spurred into action by Thorne woman Kay Harper, currently stationed in the country as a transport manager, who set up her Kids In Kabul campaign after seeing the plight of scores of youngsters who have lost their families, homes and possesions by the ongoing conflict in the country.

People across Doncaster are being urged to back the campaign with details of how to send parcels available on Kay’s Kids In Kabul Facebook page.
