Tom sets a new trend in styling

WEST Melton whizzkid Tom Paskell is ahead of the field in the hairdressing business.

Former Wath Comprehensive School pupil Tom, 21, proved he is a cut above the rest in his chosen career. He is the youngest person ever to gain a sought-after SAKS hair salon franchise and will open his own SAKS salon in Shambles Street, Barnsley, tomorrow.

His new venture has created four new jobs

SAKS, as one of the UK’s leading High Street hair and beauty companies, supports a network of high-quality salons in towns and cities across the country. Tom had to undergo stringent tests before being awarded the franchise.

A spokesperson for SAKS said: “Barnsley is a town we see as very much on-the-up with a strong sense of identity and style.

“Tom has proven he has excellent skills as a stylist, as well as great attitude and ambition. We wish him all the best.”

Tom trained at the Leslie Frances School in Barnsley and has four years experience there and at salons across the region.

He said: “I am passionate about hair styling. It’s always been my dream to run my own salon and I could see no reason why I should not go for it right now. I am thrilled to work with SAKS and value their business support.” SAKS provides franchisees with support in marketing, training, human resources and other business matters.
