Steelworkers showing their mettle

WORKERS at Tata Steel’s Aldwarke-based speciality steels site have helped to raise £1859 in a month to help cancer patients.

The money will go towards Marie Curie Nursing Care in communities across South Yorkshire.

Marie Curie was selected by over 2,000 Tata Steel employees across five sites, as their chosen charity for March. To raise the sum, staff “wore yellow to work”, held a raffle, book sales, bucket collections and took donations for the charity’s daffodil pin badges.

Marie Curie Fundraiser Liz Howlett said: “An absolutely enormous thank you to all employees at Tata Steel for choosing Marie Curie Cancer Care.”
