Stammering event set for sure hit

DONCASTER Stammering Association is hoping to make a few people speechless with a jaw dropping stunt.

Bob Adams, chair of the association, will be lying on a bed of nails and having up to 100 concrete slabs placed on his stomach and smashed with a sledgehammer.

The event has been organised to mark International Stammering Awareness Day and will take place from 10am at Clock Corner in Doncaster Town Centre.

Bob said: “As chair of Doncaster Stammering Association, and as a person who stammers and stutters, I couldn’t say N-N-No to this challenge.

“The British Stammering Association has helped thousands of people like me, and I would like to help them to continue the amazing work that they do.”

It is hoped the event will raise thousands of pounds for the national charity, by inviting people to sponsor a slab for £100, or a nail in the bed for £2 each.
