A CHAMPION Macmillan fundraiser is celebrating after raising more than £2,300 with his coffee morning event.

Steve Patania managing director of Esquires Coffee House in Wheatley Hall Road is thought to have raised the highest amount in South Yorkshire with the impressive £2,354 beating last year’s total of £1,462.

Peter Kirton, managing director of Esquires Coffee Houses UK, said: “We’re extremely proud of our Wheatley, Doncaster , team and the fantastic amount they’ve raised.

“This is the second year that Steve and his colleagues have supported Macmillan and it’s great to see how the community have once again rallied round to offer their support. We’d like to thank everyone involved in making the week such a success. Steve has a personal link to this charity and I know how much it means to him.”

Amy Hebdon, Macmillan fundraising manager, said: “Steve and the team have done an amazing job for coffee morning this year. Last year they raised £1,462 and this year they’ve done an awesome £2,354.82. Not all the totals are in yet but I have a feeling this will be the highest amount in South Yorkshire.”
