Belton All Saints Primary School pupils had stars in their eyes when a mobile planetarium brought an exciting visual display of the night sky into the school.

Star Lincs Mobile Planetarium came along to show youngsters the wonders of the universe.

Teacher Nicola Brumby said: “Year five and six are studying Ancient Greece and science and they learned all about the Earth, Moon and the planets and the Solar System.

“They have an inflatable dome the children had to crawl into on their hands and knees which made it more exciting.

“Projections on the inside showed them how the moon goes around the Earth and the Earth goes around the Sun. Then they projected stars onto the dome showing where they could find them in the night sky at this time of year. Year one and two had a presentation on space travel, including the first man on the Moon. They really enjoyed it and had a fantastic time.

“It is a popular subject - at least half a dozen pupils have a telescope at home.”
