A TEACHING assistant who managed to keep her hair as she battled cancer has had it all lopped off - in respect of two friends who were not so lucky.
Pat Arnold of All Saints’ Primary Academy at Darfield, happily watched her locks fall, during a Wear It Pink Day when staff and pupils all ditched uniform to raise a hopeful £500 for breast cancer research.
Pat’s former colleague Tammy Gulliver, and her niece, who was just 28 when diagnosed with cancer, said Pat, are two very brave women, and this was in tribute to them.
Activities went on through the day on Friday to boost her appeal.
