Non stop music at Belles shows
For several years in the 1970s, the Epworth Belles concert group played to packed houses at South Axholme Comprehensive School. Their shows were full of non-stop music, dance and comedy, featuring young women from around the area. Mavis Hoole is pictured sucking her finger following a dip into the bowl she is holding.

Mavis Hoole is pictured sucking her finger following a dip into the bowl she is holding.This photograph is one of thousands taken by Derrick French during more than a decade as Bells Editor in the ‘70s and ‘80s, and as such forms part of a unique social history of Isle life.
