THE handy work of an Epworth knitting group has benefited scores of residents young and old across the Isle of Axholme.

Wesley Knitters has created wooley clothes and blankets for babies in the neo-natal unit at Scunthorpe Hospital and for older folk in Isle care homes.

Kathleen Cooper, 80, of Burnham Road, Epworth, said: “I formed the group eight or nine years ago and I felt that we should benefit others while having fun knitting.”
