•Owston Ferry Methodist Church is hosting a musical evening with Intermezzo which will include a collection for Action For Children.

The event takes place tomorrow from 7.30pm. There will be a Christmas Tree viewing at the church on Saturday from 2pm-4pm and a carol service will be held at the church on Sunday from 2.30pm.

• THE countdown to Christmas gets underway in Ealand this weekend.

There will be a grand switch-on of the village’s festive lights at Ealand Victory Hall from 5pm this Saturday.

As well as the grand switch on the fun will also include a visit from Father Christmas. Raffle prizes will also be up for grabs.

• FREE NHS health checks are being offered at Crowle Community Hub to people aged between 40 and 74, on December 20.

The screening programme will help reduce risk of developing serious conditions such as heart disease, stroke, diabetes and kidney disease. The half hour sessions run from 10am until 4pm.
