DEMOLITION plans for social housing at Haxey, that led to a residents’ protest and public meeting last year, are set to go ahead.

Six bungalows and 10 bedsits at Hallcroft Close are to go because social landlords North Lincolnshire Homes decided the site is not fit for purpose, with low demand for the one-bed properties. Haxey Parish Council has asked for details of what will replace them.

Pete Stones, Director of Regeneration for NLH said: “We have continued to work with remaining tenants to find them new homes. We have carried out further consultation on future communal provision for the area and are moving forward with that. Once the properties are empty and the communal provision provided then NLH will work with North Lincolnshire Council to determine future development of the site.”
