HATFIELD Woodhouse Methodist Church coffee morning last Saturday raised £45.

The proceeds of the usual raffle were put towards the new coffee machine and the committee are pleased to announce the machine is installed and working satisfactorily.

Saturday's coffee morning will be in aid of SSAFA.

The Methodist church Service on Sunday at 6pm will be a communion with preacher Reverend Helena Harbottle.

l Tickets for the Harvest Supper on Saturday September 19 are available for 5 each, including the cost of the supper and entertainment by Brian Harrison and friends.

l The village tennis tournament took place on Saturday August 29 and raised 3,200 for Motor Neurone Foundation.

The winners were Keith Stokes and Roman Foster, runners-up Peter Clarkson and Graham Milnes.

The event, organised by Carol Fowler and friends, also ran a very successful raffle with excellent donated prizes.

l Hatfield Woodhouse Amateur Gardening Society's Autumn Village show will take place on Saturday in the Working Men's Club.

Entries are accepted for staging from 9.30am and the doors open at 2pm to view all the exhibits, followed by the presentations to the winners.

The auction of all items donated will follow at about 3.15pm.
