Doncaster and District Family History Society is having an open day at the Palgrave Research Centre in Balby to raise awareness of their archives.

The event on Thursday, October 4, from 2pm to 5pm and 6pm to 8pm at the King Edward Road centre will offer help with family history research. Volunteers will be on hand discuss resources.

“We must have now over 60,000 pieces of searchable material relating not just to Doncaster but all over the country.

“Having an open day gives us a chance to showcase just what we do have,” said spokesman Alan Turner.
