Don’t stop Yorkshire now!

QUEEN’S ‘Dont Stop Me Now’ is officially Yorkshire’s top feel good tune.

Forty per cent of people made it the region’s number one uplifting track in a survey published by the Samaritans to coincide with the launch of their new fundraising ‘Feel Good Friday’ today.

The YouGov survey also revealed Abba’s ‘Dancing Queen’ was second with 33 per cent while the Gloria Gaynor ‘unofficial divorcee’ anthem ‘I Will Survive’ was third (25 per cent).

The Monkees’ Daydream Believer took fourth place with 24 per cent in the poll and the Oasis track Don’t Look Back In Anger was fifth with 23 per cent.

Sponsored by healthcare provider Simplyhealth, the Feel Good Friday initiative encourages businesses to take part in positive themed fundraisers and challenges in return for donation to the Samaritans.

Celebrity presenter Noel Edmonds is backing the initiative.

He said: “I absolutely love music and any time I’m feeling in need of a pick-me-up I put on some feel-good songs.

“I hope the people of the UK are raising lots of money for Samaritans this Feel Good Friday.”
