Manager John Cresswell said of the event: “It gives everyone the opportunity to contribute towards dignity and provides a forum for people to have their say.”
Dignity Action Day aims to ensure people in care are treated as individuals, are given choice, control and a sense of purpose in their daily lives and provide stimulating activities.
Dignity Action Day asks everybody - members of the public and Health and Social Care staff to give the gift of time.
Alisa Pedder who is the dignity champion at the home said: “Dignity is about more than one day but Dignity Action Day gives people a more focused opportunity to promote it to others.”
John added: “The group spoke about communication and particularly supporting people with the same respect you would give yourself or a member of your family.”
This is the second year in a row that Cumberworth Lodge has taken part in Dignity Action Day.
