ISLE residents are being offered a novel way of losing weight - by country dancing to a live band.

North Lincolnshire NHS has organised nine sessions in the Isle to help people aged over 40 to get into shape.

Isle Dance for Health involves country style dancing to music played by local band Lys St Georges.

They start in Westwoodside Village Hall on Thursday, January 17, at 2.30pm.

After three weeks in Westwoodside the dances will move to Epworth and then on to Crowle and Ealand.

Organiser and musician Peter Barnard, 57, of Epworth, said: “You don’t need a partner, or any experience in country dancing.

“The dances will be suitable for all levels of fitness.

“Most importantly, all the dances are free.”
