Crowle study talk at society

A STUDY of Crowle before the enclosure of open fields took place will be the main topic at the October meeting of Crowle and Ealand Heritage Society.

Crowle was not fully enclosed until 1822 and the 1738 Plan and Survey of the Manor of Crowle gives an insight into what it was like when there were still vast commons and large open fields which were farmed in strips by the inhabitants.

The meeting takes place on Thursday, October 11, from 7.30pm at Crowle Hub, situated above the library in High Street. It is open to all and costs £2, which includes refreshments.

Crowle and Ealand Heritage Society exists to study and promote the history and heritage of Crowle. It runs a programme of talks by guest speakers and members every month from September until May. For more information contact Angus Townley by emailing angus@townley.com or calling 01724 711191.
