Call for park extension in Sprotbrough

AN OVERWHELMING majority of people have voted in favour of improving a skatepark.

Residents were balloted on proposals to improve the Sprotbrough skatepark, off Anchorage Lane at a public meeting.

Over 170 ballots were returned - 95 per cent in favour of extending the facilities with eight people against the plans.

Voters were also asked by user group Area 51 for proposal feedback at the meeting held inside Sprotbrough Library last month.

Area 51 has since been offered to work in partnership with other agencies on ways to improve the park facilities.
