A SELECTION of delicious delicacies and sweet treats have been whipped up in aid of a good cause.

The Phoenix Theatre in Station Road, Bawtry played host to the Marie Curie Big Coffee Morning event, raising cash for nurses who care for terminally ill people who are battling cancer.

In addition to tucking into home baked cakes, scones, muffins and biscuits there was a steady supply of pot of tea and mugs of coffee throughout the afternoon.

The event had been organised by the Doncaster branch of the Marie Curie charity, with help from Carolyn Smith, of Wheatley, Barbara Widdowson, of Westwoodside, Jackie Endley, of Bawtry, Felicity Butler, of Rossington, and Pat Gilmore, of Wheatley Hills.

As well as popping in for a hat and a cuppa there was also a chance to get creative as the coffee afternoon also featured a name the duck competition.
