Bloomin’ marvellous
Pictured is winner of the community garden competition Patricia Sables with chairman of Woodlands Speaks Rev Stephen Gardner.
A GARDENING competition brought out some bloomin’ beautiful floral displays in a Doncaster village.
With scores of green-fingered grown-ups tidying up their lawns in Woodlands ready for the Woodlands Speaks gardening competition, Patricia Sables, of Villa Road, was crowned the winner.
Pat Nevin, of The Park, came second with Roy Staples in third for his efforts in Shaftesbury Avenue.
All of the winners received an award which included a garden centre voucher.
There will be a public meeting tonight, from 7pm, at Woodlands All Saints Church in Quarry Lane.
Residents will get the chance to discuss how they want the £1m Lottery funding to be spent on improving the village.
