Consibrough tatooist Johny D Matthews has walked away with another prize at a York tattoo convention

Johny, who works at the Conisbrough Tattoo Studio on weekends, beat opposition from around the world to win Best Large Black and Grey Tattoo at the Ink For Heroes Tattoo Convention at York Race Course. He said: “I set my tattoo booth up just in time for the event to open, and I started probably what was going to be one of my best tattoos so far to date - and after an awesome two-day event I finished the tattoo and I reluctantly entered it in the competition. I was happy with the tattoo but I never ever expected to win anything.”

The event included artists from France, Mexico and the USA.

All proceeds were donated to the Help for Heroes charity.
